March 2012
dontworryitscollege asked: This is an answer to the anon who was questioning greek life. There is no "easy" sorority to rush. Each has their own way of rush and everyone ends up where they belong. Rush week for sororities is the 2nd and 3rd week of fall semester. And as for hazing that is up to the sorority. Personally being in greek life is the best decision I made here at NAU. And I have yet to be hazed or hear...
amandalorian asked: On Greek Life: There is no easy sorority to rush. If you're doing it just to get into one, you're doing it for the wrong reasons. Additionally, NAU has an absolute 100% NO HAZING policy and any chapter found to be hazing will lose their charter.
Anonymous asked: Whats the easiest sorority to rush? When do you rush? Is the hazing hardcore?
yemyemyema asked: I really can NOT choose between Wilson or Allen Hall!! I've been reading about it all day and still can't choose, can you please give me a little more insight about the two?

amorejengee asked: Where can I find the schedule for spring semester exams? & when we have to move out and such.
onelovebird asked: In regards to the question about moving out, the buildings close at 10 am on the friday after finals.
Anonymous asked: when do we move out of the dorms for this semester?
Anonymous asked: For the All American Rejects concert, I know you need your student ID to get a ticket, but do you need to show it going into the concert since you already have a ticket?
Anonymous asked: Where is the best place to sell back textbooks?
Anonymous asked: does the bookstore buy back textbooks all year round?
Anonymous asked: If i have a 3.0 now but theres a chance that this quarter and next might lower it, would i get accepted and then would they possibly take back my acceptance? i think i might have gotten a 2.7 this quarter or something.
Anonymous asked: If i received an email from NAU saying to apply and that they waived my application fee and what not, knowing that they found out my email from taking the sat/act and checking yes to get emails from colleges does that mean that they liked my score/would accept my score or is it random we send to everyone who clicked yes? I mostly worry about my score about getting into NAU.

Yay for a snow day!
Can we talk about how I’ve been at NAU since 2009 and I’ve never made a snowman? I’m definitely going to change this. Anyways, yay for Monday’s snow day :D
Anonymous asked: Can you describe greek life? Is there any hazing also? (I know its illegal, but it could still happen)

This is regarding the anonymous post about the abnormality of getting into greek life if you don’t rush as a freshman. I transferred to NAU but still wanted to be apart of greek life so I rushed as a Junior and I’m currently an active member in my sorority and love every second of it. Don’t get discouraged because the majority of PNMs are freshman, I know I sure did, and if I had...
Anonymous asked: To the last anon, any chance theyre from hawaii? because thats a very hawaiish term to use. Its kinda comforting if there are alot of hawaii residents that are planning to go to nau as well.

The snow will continue into Monday afternoon and then will hopefully go away forever. When traveling back to Flagstaff, please be extra cautious! Enjoy the rest of spring break (:

Off-Campus Housing Recommendations?
Hey guys,
My brother and I are searching for apartments to live in starting this May.
Pretty much I just need your recommendations for good 2 bedroom apartments that allow pets and are around $1000 for 2 bedrooms.
(I’m sure there are plenty of others wondering the same for off-campus).
Thanks! -Ash

Anonymous asked: Do some residence halls fill up faster then others? Also if your from out of state and you can only make it to the orientation in the end/middle of august does it affect your housing/classes?

itsemilynicole asked: Just a few questions from an incoming 2012 freshmen about orientation. 1. Are we required to stay in one of the dorms overnight or can we go back to the hotel with our family after day one? 2. How are we put into our groups for orientation? Is it like a organized by last name type thing or if my friend (who is also attending NAU) and I show up together can we be in the same group?

Hey! So, I’m going to be a freshman next fall at NAU, but I have a few questions before then. 1. Could you possibly explain the whole meal-plan-roll-over-dollar-things, please? I do not get it at all.
Basically a meal plan is “free” meals. You pay for them, but they are covered by your financial aid (if you have any). For freshman meal plans, you have the 10, 14, and 19 to pick from....
